There are times when we have people around us but still don't feel able to say what is really going on.
We might worry about burdening family or friends, feel that they won't understand, or simply not know how to put our thoughts and feelings into words.
Counselling offers something different: dedicated time and space to talk about whatever is important to you.
You don't need to have a clear explanation or know exactly what you want to talk about. You can arrive with a jumble of thoughts, a particular concern, or simply the feeling that you need some space to work things through.
Being listened to can be powerful in itself. Having someone genuinely present, without judgement or expectations, can help us hear ourselves more clearly and make sense of what we are experiencing.
From there, counselling can become a process of exploring, understanding and discovering what might help.
At Essence Counselling, I don't see myself as someone who has all the answers for you. My role is to work alongside you, creating a space where you can explore what matters to you and find your own way forward.
Sometimes, having somewhere to talk is where things begin.
