Counselling is a collaborative process in a confidential, supportive environment where clients address everyday issues and past challenges. Guided by a trained counsellor using various approaches, clients actively participate to gain clarity, focus on feelings and behaviours, enhance self-understanding and growth, develop new ways of thinking, and facilitate positive change, promoting overall mental health and well-being. I have supported people facing challenges with anxiety, stress, depression (including post-natal depression), trauma, grief, burnout, career and family issues (relationships), parenting, and others.
Personalised Approach:
Tailored therapy sessions to address your unique needs and challenges, fostering personal growth and healing.
Confidentiality:
A safe and private environment where you can openly discuss your thoughts and feelings without judgment. I will respond to you personally, all communication between us will be treated as privileged and confidential information*. I am bound by the rules and regulations of the New Zealand Counsellors Association of New Zealand and its Codes of Ethical Practice *There are some limitations to confidentiality where if I believe that you are at risk of harm either to yourself or others it would be necessary for me to extend confidentiality, I would mostly discuss this with you first. This will be fully explained to you in person and set out fully in our confidentiality agreement.
I use proven therapeutic methods to facilitate meaningful, lasting change. My humanistic framework integrates person-centred and pluralistic philosophies, nurturing personal growth towards self-actualisation. I enhance therapeutic relationships through active listening and applying Carl Rogers's core conditions. Integrating existential theory, I emphasize acceptance, self-awareness, and personal growth, drawing meaning from personal experiences. I embrace a pluralistic approach tailored to clients' unique needs and preferences, utilising a wide range of methods. Humanistic and existential beliefs affirm individuals' capacity for self-awareness, responsibility, and goal-setting based on personal insight.
